Starting an Export Business
Getting from nothing to your first shipment — entity, registrations, buyers and pricing.
Starting to export is mostly a sequencing problem. Every step depends on an earlier one — you cannot open the bank account before the entity exists, cannot get the IEC without the account, and cannot file a shipping bill without the IEC. Done in the wrong order it takes months; done in the right order it is considerably faster.
The guides in this category lay out that sequence and the decisions inside it: which entity type suits an export business, which registrations are genuinely mandatory versus useful later, how to find and qualify a first buyer, and how to price a first quote so the deal is still profitable once freight and paperwork are counted.
